Rules for commenting
Commenting is encouraged. But, in order to keep the site running well and serve as a great place for sharing information and discussing ideas, please follow these rules. If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact us.
Everyone is solely responsible for the content of his comments.
We encourage - comments that are brief, on topic and respond to the article or previous comments; comments that are free from personal attack of other users; comments that express differences in opinion in civil and constructive ways.
No Spam / Advertising / Self-promoting / Donations – do not spam the comment section with links to your site or product, do not beg for donations, or try to self-promote your website, business or forums and so on. You cannot post advertisements or notices for contests. Hidden links are assumed to be malicious and the posts will be deleted.
Do not ask for email addresses or phone numbers – we are not here to gather personal information.
Do not post copyright-infringing material – providing or asking for information on how to illegally obtain copyrighted materials is forbidden. Discussion of illegal activities such as fraud, software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed. Do not post content from private correspondence, such as email or chat. If you are going to post material that is not your own, properly credit the source(s); failure to do so is considered plagiarism.
Do not make “offensive” comments – any messages that can be taken as defamation, harassment, or abuse is strictly prohibited. Material that is sexually or otherwise obscene, is not permitted. Use common sense while commenting. We will not tolerate rudeness, insults, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory comments. Foul language won’t be tolerated, even if you are using asterisks or any other symbol to disguise bad language. We also do not allow comments that are sexual or violent in nature.
Remain respectful of other people at all times – all comments should be professional and courteous. You have every right to disagree with the other people and explain your perspective. However, you are not free to attack, degrade, insult, or otherwise belittle them. It does not matter what belief, title or power you have in real life, you are expected to obey this rule.
Do not create multiple IDs – generally speaking, people who talk to themselves in public don’t win a lot of popularity contests; and the same is true online. Don’t create sock puppets to make yourself look popular, you’re more likely to end up looking like a fool. In addition, do not use Facebook accounts with names such as “Administrator,” “Moderator” or the name of the owner of this site in order to create a false impression in your relation with the others. Any comment with an account of this kind will be deleted.
Do not take things personally – this is very important. Sticks and stones can break your bones, but discussing ideas cannot hurt you. If someone calls you out, flames you, or disagrees with you, do not rise to the challenge. The last thing you want to do is to rise to fight a troll or a fanatic. Remember that some people, when it comes to defending their beliefs, are ready to take lives. So, do not expect to suddenly change mentalities. Inner transformations take time and discussions are a good starting point.
Only English speaking – do not comment in other languages than English. This is a public site, which means that everyone must be able to read any information, right or wrong, included here.
Do not include images or emoticons in your comments – express your ideas or feelings in words.
While these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to remove comments we deem inappropriate, offensive or off topic without notice, and we will take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure the comment section is not disrupted or abused in any way.
